What is Clinical Pilates?
Pilates is an innovative exercise routine for the whole body with a particular emphasis on core stability, alignment, posture, flexibility, coordination and endurance particularly around the spine.
Pilates aims to utilize the deep core stabilising muscles of the spine which are essential in the management of lower back pain and postural dysfunction.
Clinical Pilates is fully supervised by qualified physiotherapists who have undertaken further postgraduate training in Pilates. The physiotherapist will first undertake a thorough assessment to understand a patient’s condition, which is followed by a coordinated management plan to ensure Pilates exercises are completed correctly and supervised at all times. Clinical Pilates is safe and highly efficient.
